Comic strip for 15 Oct 2007. Season 4, Fredo & Pid'Jin

The sea was angry that day, my friend!!!

As I was boarding the nuclear submarine, I suddenly heard a scream... Heeeelp!

I HAD TO abort my mission and save her! And that's why I didn't steal the russian uranium. Hop in, beautiful! My name's Fredo.

You lying bastard!!! You never left the house!!! And you met her online!!! I read your logs, asshole!!! Well it was still an adventure. Wasn't it, honey? You had me at asl pls.

“The sea was angry that day..” .. he’s a pidgeon, not a seagull.. haaarrr..
The discussion between Fredo and the chick must have been something like : ” Prepare to be boarded. ” ! :))

  6. Snk Says:

  9. megalomaniac Says:

Nice hat (i.e. “bashka”) on Fredo.
    :)

  10. Eugen Says:

    thanks guys!
@megalomaniac: it’s not a bashka, it’s a special operations berret! Fredo is special ops!

i’m glad so many of you liked this episode, it was a risky one to do - but the first frames were so appealing to draw, that we went for it. Actually, -although it may not appear so-, the entire episode was built around the ‘aslpls’ line - and that makes me extra happy to see it didn’t go unnoticed, we understated it a little, on purpose.

also, a free beer on our next pidjin party to whomever is first to point out the reference in the first panel! (drinks will probably be on the house anyway, but still!!! it’s an adventure!)

  11. pax Says:

    hehe, Georgy boy :).
(and although Seinfeld is my favorite series, to be honest, I had to google it, so I guess it won’t count :) )
    anyway, wonderfully done.

  12. Eugen Says:

    pax gets beer.
    (google already has one)

  13. Eugen Says:

From one of our favorite Seinfeld dialogues:

George: “The sea was angry that day my friends, like an old man trying to return soup at a deli! I got about fifty-feet out and then suddenly the great beast appeared before me. I tell ya he was ten stories high if he was a foot. As if sensing my presence he gave out a big bellow. I said, “Easy big fella!” And then as I watched him struggling I realized something was obstructing his breathing. From where I was standing I could see directly into the eye of the great fish!”

    Jerry: “Mammal.”

    George: “Whatever.”

    It soooo classic! :)

  15. Silvana Says:

Is it Art Vanderlay? (otherwise known as the great porno star Buck Naked. Or George Costanza to the dilettantes).
“The sea was angry that day my friends, like an old man trying to return soup at a deli!” :))

  16. Silvana Says:

Gosh, you’re quick! That makes me look a bit stupid :))

  17. Eugen Says:

Silvana u were right, but pax came minutes ahead of you :)

  18. theTudor Says:

Is anyone here a marine biologist?

  19. pax Says:

    no, we’re all just a bunch of… architects :)

  20. cristina Says:

agghh, not fair! I knew where the line was from without googlin’ :P
anyway, the first panel s very nice drawn, gotta love them Hokusai-like waves :)

I bet that online Pid’jin is that one who puts on his wizard hat :)))

  21. cerber Says:

*peter griffin* - “It’s pronounced nucular, the ‘e’ is silent, dummy!”
    great issue!!

  22. Cosmin Says:

tbh it’s getting rather boring lately..

the long-ago comics were a lot of fun (take the the glue-series, now that was a laugh), lately *every* episode has one joke: Fredo gets chicks all the time, while Pidgin is a virgin…

  27. Liviu Says:

hahahaa, i allmost forgot about the classic mirc expression asl pls :)

  28. Cuddlemuffin Says:
