Brilliant! One of the best short strips I’ve ever read.
-
I foresee a new religious dispute.
-
Kidney? Relocated in the liver’s place, I suppose…
-
LOL@mihai Jesus is able to puzzle his organs… like… kissin’ with his ass and things like that.
-
not funny. rly.
-
to their amazement, the kidney was made out of chocolate in the all-pure consumeristic new-age celebration of the spring equinox…
-
First of all the spear is pointing the liver, not the kidney-learn some basic anatomy.
And second this is not funny, making fun of religion, especially in the holidays period.
If people don`t take religion serious what else could make them behave like a good, civiliezed person ? Religion is the only thing that keep the human baens above the floating line and don`t turn us into some animals.
-
common sense and respect could do that (make people behave civilized) instead of some (often corrupt) institution… you should have to fear some imaginary place (hell) to make you behave nice and obey some common sense rules…
-
you shouldn’t*
-
Anatomy fail
) -
Ah, absolutely brilliant! Simple yet pointy, and the moment chosen to publish is the icing on the cake. Or eggs. Congratulations
-
Nice Easter Special
You might want to rethink the kidney bit though
-
@all: so you’re saying kidneys aren’t there? Weird, that means i donated my *liver* last year (that would explain why i can now drink so much with no consequence) – either way i’ll probably adjust the drawing these days
) -
@Adrian: Of course it’s funny. Look at Pid’Jin’s face
And not everybody cares about religion. It’s just some other philosophy… born out of loads of drugz and alcohol
If you’ve never seen an angel so far, you haven’t been on acid.Good job, guys!!!
-
I`m burning in hell as I read and laugh at this…oooh the pain
)
@Andrei thank you for the comm, all the easter thing just slipped my mind. -
Religion (not God) was and still is one of the main manipulation tools in history
-
Kidney = RINICHI, Liver = ficat.
That is the place where the right kidney is located, there’s nothing wrong in this drawing. I can’t believe you critize this drawing without knowing what the kidney is. Long live Romania
-
Eddie, go read the anatomy handbook again. To “access” the kidney you have to see Jesus… from behind
As you may see in the drawing, Jesus is facing us when nailed on the cross. The wound is located exactly under the right lower rib. Exactly where the LIVER is located. -
Eugen, but what about changing the headline? Who cares about a poor kidney when the big juicy liver becomes the big star? “First liver theft in history” sounds pretty well, too.
-
Dudes, to my amazement, the kidney transplat/theft scar is just like in the drawing, only a bit lower. Just do a Google image search for “kidney transplant scar” and you’ll, almost all images are from the front.
-
It’s a little rough, quite hard to digest… It’s not so funny after you read the Biblical passages where Christ is punished and crucified, or after watching “Passion of The Christâ€.
Guys, most of the times you rock. It’s completely your choice if you want to approach religious topics but, in such matters, it’s always safe a more refined type of jokes which, I’m afraid, you haven’t succeeded to display today. -
This is one of the coolest strips I ever saw
Keep’ em going, you’re doing well!I feel sorry for the ones unable to see the fun side of all this and feel superior to the “uncivilized” “animals” that can’t take a crappy religion serious.
I don’t know why but I like the kidney theft more than the liver so I propose let it like this.
Besides, if you dig deep enough, you can find a kidney wherever you make the incision, right?
-
But first they had to get past the liver…And ste- BORROW, that too.
-
hm.. never tell john locke what he can’t do??!?
-
Damn… last strip there was the “who is at the other end of the stretcher” , this week “liver vs. kidney”… give it a break, enjoy the ride ppl
-
it s not funny.you shouldn’t have done this. It would have been funnyer if they had made expoding easter eggs.
-
brilliant!
-
@Horhe – Actually “who is at the other end of the stretcher†thread from last week was nice – we were even considering to include it in a sequel.
.
So, by all means folks, do not censor yourselves
Tell us about how we’re gonna be burring in hell OR laugh and pick on the more conservative readers and burn in hell together with us. -
but just don’t go for a Muslim sequel to this
-
Funny as hell (no pun intended). And one more proof that religious people can’t take a joke if it involves even a remote reference to a cross. Sad, really.
-
this is not funny, making fun of religion, especially in the holidays period.
-
Funny indeed. At least to all that can see religion for what it is (or rather really isn’t)
-
well i guess for some people is like having heard something ‘vulgar’ about their mother. for the others, it’s just funny. just love the way pidjin is on the lookout
-
IT really bugs me how conceited all you atheists are (I mean the people who comment). I don’t believe in Jesus either but I don’t think it’s such a big virtue, like you guys seem to! You act like everyone who is a believer is a brainless moron worthy of your mockery. People have the right to believe in the Tooth fairy for all means, and you should simply respect that, period! Also, people have their own tastes and if something is funny to you, it doesn’t mean it’s universally funny. If religion is too primitive for you, at least have some common sense!
And if the authors didn’t want criticism they’d close the comments. Or they wouldn’t post Jesus comics on Easter.
End of rant. -
@Lisbeth
.
Dear Lisbeth,
.
I am not an atheist. Neither is Eugen. Being born in Romania I am Christian Orthodox. I happen to think that this is a pretty nice church to be in (since it does not have the punishment of excommunication amongst other things).
.
The thing is that I believe that Jesus was a pretty cool guy. So I think that Jesus wouldn’t mind.
.
If people choose to think Jesus was very strict in the way He would want to be perceived that is pretty much as valid of a guess as mine was for thinking that He would be Ok with jokes.
.
Is it Ok to believe that He left us some Brand Guidelines for how His image should be represented? That’s ridiculous! That sound more like Corporate Identity.
.
I’m afraid he would be scandalized to see his depiction in icons or how he has become a standardized image in the media . “Always a thin, bearded, serene guy.”
.
I remember some geneticists guys made a model of what Jesus might have looked like – and the result looked more like a tough guy. The opposite of the standardized image.
.
To me that was like some kind of poetic justice. Again – some might be offended.
.
We wouldn’t want to do something terribly offensive. And the irreverence of this new spin we put on the story has no ill intentions.
.
We think there are many other things that could offend religion.
Like multi colored eggs & chocolate bunnies that have very little to do with the real meaning of Easter.
.
Yet I like to believe that Jesus would not ban Chocolate Bunnies either.
.
I don’t think it’s offensive that I think Jesus would have a sense of humor and would be very tolerant.
.
Please don’t cast stones.
-
Lisbeth,
You said:
“I don’t believe in Jesus either but I don’t think it’s such a big virtue, like you guys seem to! You act like everyone who is a believer is a brainless moron worthy of your mockery. People have the right to believe in the Tooth fairy for all means, and you should simply respect that, period!”I had read the comments posted here and I’m awe struck. What the heck did you read to reach these conclusions? As far as I can see, nobody sais it’s a virtue to be an atheist and disrespect other people believes. Do you hear voices that tells you what people didn’t said but might have wanted to say, or what?
If you look at one of the first comments posted here:
“If people don`t take religion serious what else could make them behave like a good, civiliezed person ? Religion is the only thing that keep the human baens above the floating line and don`t turn us into some animals.”Did it ever crossed your mind that an atheist may feel offended and discriminated by a narrow view like this? I heard it lots of times. Religion is the only moral compass blabla. If I’m an atheist, such a statement automatically turn me into an uncivilized animal below the floating line, as stated.
Well, guess what, it’s wrong. That’s why I commented previously, not because I felt the urge to mock any person religious sensibility but because my views were simply thrashed and I don’t like that.
-
This has nothing to do with religion, it’s just humor. Don’t freak out.
-
@Tudor: I personally am not offended by Jesus jokes. If the jokes are funny, I always laugh. And I
agree with you, I also believe that God, if he exists, would have a sense of humour and he wouldn’t be
as iconic and rigid as we picture him. In conclusion: I don’t have a problem with the comic itself. Not
one.
But some people do have a problem and I believe that when you choose such touchy topics you
accept that they might offend people. And it’s their right to be offended. It doesn’t mean that they’re
narrowminded, or humorless, or that their beliefs should be bashed. And I’m not saying you, the
authors, did that. The faithful fans usually do that.
@George: surprisingly, it was your comment that triggered my piss-off session. I might have posted
this in the wrong place, I agree. Things here are quite peachy. Yet I’ve been seeing a lot of these
situations all over the internet lately (since Easter is approaching, everyone feels “religious”),
together with rude comments and idiotic reactions. My irritability level has grown beyond limits so
all it took was your little observation for me to burst. My appologies for picking a much to peaceful
objective to launch my missiles at.
However, my answer to you: if your mentality is balanced and complete, a different point of view
shouldn’t be enough to turn you into an animal. Yes, religious people are convinced that their
mentality is the right one, just as we’re convinced that atheism is what’s correct. If we didn’t strongly
believe that our way is the only correct way, we’d all be hypocrites. And don’t misinterpret my
words, I’m not talking about tolerance. We can tolerate eachother but we will never agree
with eachother. Religion, together with its ideology, will not simply vanish because some don’t
approve of it.
-
Awww so it wasn’t the jews, it was Pidjin all along!
-
Dear Lisbeth…
Unfortunately you are right … religion is an evil that will not disappear that soon.
As communism, and all other utopic restrictive ideologies religion tends to submit the will of those who follow blindly the words of priests and spiritual leaders.Quite frankly i find the drawing this week extremely funny.
And again quite frankly i do not give a “frozen onion” if the majority that claims to be religious feels offended.Congrats!

Bring Jizăz back. He’s a good donor.

@Lisbeth: You DON’T have a boyfriend! Am I right?
Cheers everybody!
-
This is by far the best comic! Jokes about religion are always hilarious. Good job guys, and keep ‘em coming.
-
but where did the little guy get the fancy icebox for the kidney?
@sergiu – yeah, pidjin`s face shows repressed guilt
Or even the very lack of guilt when confrunted with the public oppinion. -
F’k it, it’s FUNNY!!

He would Laugh!
