Serban, the gaping mouth and exclamation like marks around the blond’s face in panels two and three indicate shock and fear. Because of this expression -not to mention the fact that the character is immobilized- one can easily deduce that the character is about to be raped. The fact that the joke is that the INTENDED victim is a girl and they are about to rape a boy by accident is not only grossly sexist and arguably homophobic, it just isn’t all that funny.

@ Eugen, this comic is sexist in that it jokes that any woman unable to fight back is there for the taking. The whole punchline of the joke is that instead of raping a woman, as he thought, he is instead raping a transvestite, which I guess is supposed to be disgusting, hence Saridout’s comment.
Anyway, this comic is disgusting.

Jokes about rape (and other awful things) can be funny if they don’t encourage or brush off the crime itself and perpetuate the kind of thinking–rape is no big deal, women are there for you to use, who cares if they can’t fight back–that leads to rape in the first place.
The problem with making this kind of joke is you’re doing it at the expense of women and trans people, who a) have SO many jokes made at their expense that it’s getting kind of old, b) have to deal with sexist and transphobic shit every single goddamn day of their lives and don’t need you adding to it, and c) are at an unequal risk of being victims of sexual crimes. By making this sort of joke, you’re adding to the social environment that makes people think rape isn’t serious and they don’t have to treat women and trans people as human beings.
Plus, this sort of thing can be awful to see for people who have actually suffered and survived rape. And according to statistics, probably at least one woman or girl in your life is a rape or sexual assault survivor. Show a little respect.
Plus, if you’ve got to make this sort of joke, at least make it funny. This punchline is just…played. -
