the tail reference makes this strip’s pun the most obscure ever.
i’m still laughing because i would have never thought of this as an explanation. come to think of it, i never questioned why animals have tails…
Tail is also a sign of degeneration (mostly due to incest) or chaotic breeding (among humans). It seams that at one point… For further references I recommend the movie Taxidermia.
Anyway. Loved the episode and the “connaisseur” punchline…
Great book that one…Great comic..Very subtle. I`m still laughing..well…i`m only smiling now.. We are all part of the Buendia family..
Can i jump to conclusions and say that pidjin and fredo are the only “saints” since they have no tails…?

children conceived in incest are supposed to have tails, according to folklore.
it appears to be a more obscure reference than we thought.

I love the look on Pid’jin’s face when the daughter-wife goat welcomes Noah. He looks so shocked.
I bet he’s gonna wear his Isus vine! t-shirt from now on!

Scuse me: It seams that at one point we all had tails, but evolution cut them. However, degeneration brings back the tail thingy and British people.

Have you read “One hundred years of solitude” (Cien años de soledad).
March 5th, 2008 at 6:15 pm
that book is part of the reason why tudor and i thought that reference would be more popular.
yet, even google seems rather clueless to it, so i couldn’t blame anyone who didn’t relate.
cheers

Cooey! I was just sent this site on my e-mail thing. This is quite fantastic.
I thought Pigeons were comical, but this goes one step beyond!
Keep up the good work. Do you have any seeds?
