Motion Of The Ocean

Noah returns. Cursed be thy names, evil ones! I was going to build a new world, of faith, purity and chastity!

Purity and chastity??? All the animals are having sex!!! I've seen enough interracial to last me a lifetime! And incest!!! AND interracial incest.

I never allowed sex aboard the ark all these years! Father-husband, you're back!!!

Present day. Turned out, it was more fun to leave them all alive. Especially Noah. Thanks to him, all animals have tails today.

:) ) Well, the tail thing is all clear now. Wonder how us humans got rid of it, though :P Or was it through further extensive in-breeding? :) )

  14. Eugen Erhan @ March 3, 2008 at 4:26 pm

children conceived in incest are supposed to have tails, according to folklore.

it appears to be a more obscure reference than we thought.

  15. megalomaniac @ March 3, 2008 at 5:05 pm

I love the look on Pid’jin’s face when the daughter-wife goat welcomes Noah. He looks so shocked. :)

I bet he’s gonna wear his Isus vine! t-shirt from now on!
    :)

  16. cerber @ March 3, 2008 at 5:14 pm

the tail reference makes this strip’s pun the most obscure ever.
i’m still laughing because i would have never thought of this as an explanation. come to think of it, i never questioned why animals have tails…

thx dear :) it actually was a really nice (b)day and it started with this episode over coffee :D

  26. Ana @ March 5, 2008 at 1:19 am

Tail is also a sign of degeneration (mostly due to incest) or chaotic breeding (among humans). It seams that at one point… For further references I recommend the movie Taxidermia.

Anyway. Loved the episode and the “connaisseur” punchline…

  27. Ana @ March 5, 2008 at 1:20 am

Scuse me: It seams that at one point we all had tails, but evolution cut them. However, degeneration brings back the tail thingy and British people.

  28. Alluz @ March 5, 2008 at 5:38 pm

Have you read “One hundred years of solitude” (Cien años de soledad).

  29. Eugen Erhan @ March 5, 2008 at 6:15 pm

that book is part of the reason why tudor and i thought that reference would be more popular.

yet, even google seems rather clueless to it, so i couldn’t blame anyone who didn’t relate.

    cheers
    e

  30. theTudor @ March 5, 2008 at 6:39 pm

@Ana -oh yea i remember : “The big book of British smiles”

  31. Corina @ March 6, 2008 at 4:41 pm

Great book that one…Great comic..Very subtle. I`m still laughing..well…i`m only smiling now.. We are all part of the Buendia family..
Can i jump to conclusions and say that pidjin and fredo are the only “saints” since they have no tails…?

  32. theTudor @ March 6, 2008 at 4:58 pm

@Corina “Great book that one” you mean

    a)“One hundred years of solitude”
    or
b)“The big book of British smiles”

  33. Eugen Erhan @ March 7, 2008 at 4:40 pm

just noticed that Der Spiegel linked to us, so herzlich willkommen, alles :)

  34. Stu Coo @ March 7, 2008 at 6:03 pm

Cooey! I was just sent this site on my e-mail thing. This is quite fantastic.

I thought Pigeons were comical, but this goes one step beyond!

Keep up the good work. Do you have any seeds?

  35. Corina @ March 19, 2008 at 9:45 am

    One hundred years of solitude.

  36. Jason A. Quest @ October 26, 2009 at 11:04 pm

“Interracial incest” is the most wonderful new concept I have encountered in months. Doubleplusgood!
